This week we are moving over to the world of legumes and finding out all the delicious and tasty dishes you can prepare with them. Green peas are a really versatile ingredient. Let’s find out their magnificent properties!
Our star of the week is fantastic for blood circulation since it avoids plaque buildup in arteries. Furthermore, being a legume with vasodilatation properties, it is considered a good ingredient to promote heart health.
Green peas are rich in phosphorous, potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, sodium and selenium; not bad, right? The vitamins that prevail in this ingredient are vitamin A, B1, B3, B6, B9, C, E and K. Vitamins A and B are considered the best natural anti-inflammatories. Vitamins C, E and zinc are antioxidants and are beneficial to the cells of our body.
Peas are rich in fiber, which reduces high fat levels in our blood (cholesterol) and regulates sugar. That is why they help regulate bowel transit and prevent constipation.
This ingredient contains very low amounts of fat, which is why it should be considered for every dish, either as a main ingredient or as a side. What’s more, it has a high quantity of protein.
It also contains carbohydrates, with which they provide enough energy for daily activities, not only from a physical point of view, but also for our mental energy.
This week we will prepare chocolate and Green peas cookies and stirred peas.
